i can’t reblog this enough

because rich people need to be rich so they can pay the poor, not everyone can be equal because some people do work harder. Without rich people, poor, hard working people can’t get raises ~ a lower-class ‘poor’ Mexican who’s a republican,

hey yeah that’d be all well and good except it’s dumb fucking reality-ignoring bullshit since “the rich” are taking literally all the wage gains since 2009, every single last dollar, while everyone else combined is actually LOSING PACE
and that’s just talking about the last FOUR years. by any sane metric the wage gap between 1% and 99% has massively outpaced their productivity gap over the last 30-35.

yup! also, there are limited resources on this planet. so, why is any one person allowed to hoard that much for themselves?
i wouldn’t even make the maximum wage that harsh…like 5 or 10 million should be good. (then we can adjust it for inflation, even!) you can live a very good life and give family members money. but after that you don’t need anymore. next is what to do with the money that is taxed. well i would say we should pay off the debt, education, broadening the food stamp program, and ‘rebuilding’ mother nature (forestry and other natural habitats).
the thing about the maximum wage is that all that money will go from the rich to the government. i truly believe the government would handle the money at least a little bit better than the current rich people.
and more, i’m not sure if the super rich are truly evil or if they just fell into the money and don’t know what to do with it. i don’t want to say all of them are evil but some definitely are.

Everyday

Every time some dumb fuck says something about bombing North Korea off the map I want to scream. Those babies faces, that could be my baby. I see my own daughter in all of their innocent faces. That is the same blood in her veins.

Yes. There are loads of ordinary people in North Korea, just like anywhere else. Warm, good-hearted, normal people with families and dreams. Their government has serious, frightening issues, but their citizens are just trying to live their lives in a country that often makes it really freaking hard for them. Never forget this.

genetically engineering humans

a few thoughts on this:

-To me, it sounds mostly horrible, but when I think about a possibility of my child or any child having some painful, awful disease I am seriously conflicted …

-I wouldn’t want anyone to pick looks, athleticism, or even prevent mild diseases such as mild retardation, but at the same time the type of people to pick out those genes are the type of people to put their kids in beauty pageants, put sports above school, and feel burdened by a retarded family member, etc, so…..

-Perhaps a solution is to only allow people to be able to choose one or 2 modifications per person

-Another problem with this is that there would become 2 different classes of people, perfect people and not perfect people.

-Then there is the whole issue of ‘my sister’s keeper’ situations where some kids are born to provide blood or other body parts to others. That’s really disturbing to me.

-Also, if you create a person who has all the attributes you want, you are taking out the fun of learning and experiencing growth, imo.

In conclusion, I think this is mostly bad. But could be good in only a few, few circumstances. I also am mostly opposed to engineering animals/plants/nature.

Why I almost defriended everyone who had an HRC logo as their profile photo this week

agnesgalore:

It’s becoming increasingly clear to me that, though I didn’t think about this at the time, I probably started a blog because I need somewhere to vent my boundless rage that is not random people’s Facebook walls. I mean, one thing among the many thousands of things that are guaranteed to raise my blood pressure is when folks get all “the internet isn’t real, and it’s not a viable platform for communication,” but also like, Facebook fights are dumb, I’m supposed to be an adult now.

So here’s the thing that got me all het up this week: gay marriage.

Specifically, these goddamn things:

ahhh. finally i feel like someone understands. especially the last line about marriage has never been about equality. i’ve seen through this for years and why i’m hesitant to jump on the bandwagon that is pro gay marriage. i’ve always thought, ‘what about lonely people who will never get married? what about people in love triangles? why does marriage need to be supported it all? why can’t we call for an end to the institution of marriage instead of calling for everyone to get married?’
