someone gets injured and is laying in the middle of the road and people drive past her yelling “what are you doing?!? get out of the street and get a job!”

This actually happened on an episode of 24 but it sadly still paints a pretty accurate picture of our culture today. The reason I say this is because whenever something abnormal is on the side or in the middle of the road, people usually don’t think to stop or get out and help. Okay it’s a little extreme… but I could see a lot of people doing it. Or whenever there’s a wreck on the highway and cars are all stopped and backed up, like, 5-10% of the population actually tries to swerve in and out of traffic to get ahead. I guess this usually applies to driving and not other instances because for whatever reason people act like huge assholes in the car but as soon as they get out it’s “oh may i help you?!”…

It’s usually a good thing to be alert as possible when driving and not have the tendency to speed around like you’re in a race…people, it’s not a race. Just being alert all the time is a pretty good idea. You never know when something crazy may happen so try to be ready.

I’m not trying to say everyone needs to help in every single situation, but you need to be prepared to at least slow down for any situation, in life.

“Stop trying to ‘get it together’. The biggest lie we’re told when we’re growing up is that soon as we’re adults, as soon as we’re in college, finish college, get that job, have that steady income, find that someone special, ‘find ourselves’, find that perfect house, get that retirement fund, have those children, everything will fall into place. Here’s a secret: it won’t. Every new development in your life, good or bad, big or small, will come with its own very special set of challenges. The sooner you accept that, the better off you’ll be.”

Yes and it’s bullshit.

college is somewhat of a scam nowadays. i would fix it by, eliminating most general ed requirements, firstly. secondly i think by having the government help some people with the cost, the cost has inflated. so maybe the government needs to help in a different way. i think people who are in college or considering going, really have to analyze the situation critically. if there is a wave of kids not going to college because of the price, the price should drop and that is a good thing. people say college will open so many doors yet graduates can’t find jobs…. so i think it’s okay to be college aged but hold off on going while you figure your life out.

AGREE. no one gives kids equal treatment for starters. WHY IS THERE UNEQUAL FUNDING FOR SCHOOLS??? secondly, people plain just don’t care about kids. if they are in a poor city they will probably end up struggling in life because not enough adults will actually help out children in any way. this includes rich and middle class people. (i’m not being a hypocrite because i donate things occasionally and plan to adopt kids when i can. i am poor right now though.) it’s not just the government to blame though. there’s plenty of people in society who don’t do anything. any adult that doesn’t help when they can is to blame.

i feel like my workplace is too hot and dry. the heater just won’t stop sometimes. so today i brought in a plant and sprayed the air with water and it seemed to help a lot. i heard that house plants clear the toxins out of your house and make it healthier for you to live in. i think work places should start having indoor plants. i work at a daycare and am making the air healthier for the kids by bringing in plants.

fun fact: once in biology my teacher told us that “if you’re ever crying wipe the tears all over your face and they’ll help clear up your skin” then he explained that because tears are designed to clear dust and dirt from your eyes and will do the same for your skin and clear up acne and i remember thinking “excellent, fandom will make me beautiful”
